Division 27 & 28 · Low Voltage

Low Voltage & Life Safety Systems

Fire alarm, security doors, cameras, cabling, intercom and paging, nurse call and AV — the systems a building needs before anyone can occupy it. We have installed this work before, under a different division of this company, and the two principals who run it each bring thirty years of low voltage behind them. It is back under the ProPaint contract because the trades around it are already ours.

What We Deliver

Trade Scope 01

Fire Detection & Alarm

Initiating devices and notification appliances, fire alarm control panel and remote annunciator locations, rough-in and pathways. We coordinate the acceptance test with the authority having jurisdiction and hand it over ready for that test. Work we have done.

Trade Scope 02

Access Control & Secure Entry Doors

Card readers, intercom stations, electrified hardware and power transfer, electric strikes and electronic latches, door position switches, and release on fire alarm. On a Michigan secure entry the security devices are commonly the owner's own contractor to provide, so we carry the conduit, raceway, boxes, pull wires, power supplies, door prep and final connections that make them land. Work we have done.

Trade Scope 03

Video Surveillance

Surveillance camera rough-in and mounting, pathways, terminations, head-end and recorder location, and a clean handover to whoever monitors it. Interior, exterior and corridor coverage laid out against the drawings, not guessed at. Work we have done.

Commercial Spec Engineered Fit
Trade Scope 04

Structured Cabling & Data

Horizontal cabling and backbone, telecommunications rooms, racks and cabinets, patch panels, communications outlets, terminations, labelling to the specified scheme, and certification test results with the closeout.

Commercial Spec Engineered Fit
Trade Scope 05

Intercom, Paging & Nurse Call

Classroom and corridor loudspeakers, intercom stations at the entry, public address, all-call and zone paging, bell and clock tie-in, mass notification and voice evacuation, and nurse call in care settings.

Commercial Spec Engineered Fit
Trade Scope 06

AV & Sound Systems

Gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium and performing-arts sound and AV — speaker layout, conduit and box rough-in, rack location, and the pathways the AV contractor needs before the ceiling closes.

How We Work On A Low Voltage Package

Scope read off the drawings and the specification, device by device — not off the bid advertisement
Licensing settled scope by scope before bid day, self-performed or under a named licensed partner
Pathways, boxes and conduit coordinated with the ceiling, framing and fire-protection trades we already self-perform
Labelling, as-builts, test results and owner training in the closeout package, not promised afterwards

Licensing, Stated Plainly

Licensing is settled scope by scope before we bid. Where Michigan requires a licensed alarm or electrical contractor for a portion of the work, that portion is carried under the correct licence — self-performed where ours covers it, or by a licensed partner named in our submission. Ask us on the specific package and you will get a straight answer before bid day, not after.

02

Pathway & Rough-In Coordination

Conduit, raceway, sleeves, boxes and pull wires set with the framing and ceiling trades while the walls are still open.

03

Device Install & Termination

Devices mounted, cable dressed and terminated, panels and head-end built out and labelled.

04

Test, Acceptance & Turnover

Certification results, acceptance by the authority having jurisdiction where required, as-builts, labelling and owner training.

30 Years

Thirty years each, in the two principals.

Division 27 & 28

Communications, electronic safety and security.

One Contract

Low voltage beside the trades we self-perform.
